“I’ll Be in the Car is a poignant, extraordinary story that reads like the very best novels, except it is all true.  Annette Januzzi Wick has used this book for her own healing and we are all the better for it.  An exceptional book.” - Steve Hexom, Host, KBUR.  Listen in!! What our readers are saying:

Your honesty about your self and your feelings and your pain was refreshing. So often, people hide the human part of their feelings. Selfishness is not the right word. More like self…. You let us into the real feelings you were having through all of the challenges. That is the "So What" that the editor was trying to get from you. You came through.  - Frank Gambish, former classmate.

I am so grateful that you have given the generosity, as Mary would say, of this book to the world.  It was quite timely for me as we are here in Portland for the first Writing Sampler on Thursday.  We are relocating to Portland, in large part because I think its a good place for the school.  We actually still live in Port Townsend, WA where we moved from Cincinnati 3 years ago.  So the scenery was very familiar---Whidbey, Seattle and we love the Oregon Coast.  I spread my father's ashes at Cannon Beach.  I especially appreciated the ending of your book and the insight into the journey that your writing has been for you. -
Karen Waters, Women Writing for (a) Change, Portland, Oregon.

"I had many varied emotions as I “raced” thru the book: Reminiscence, humor, anxiety, sadness, compassion, resolve, joy and now anticipation. We all face the same experience in each of our lives. Someday we will be the caregiver or we will cause someone to be ours. It cannot be avoided. It is an “issue” I never appreciated, nor recognized. But now it is so obvious." - Milo Chelovitz, Former VP, Cap Gemini America

"More than anything, your book made me feel not alone on this journey...just knowing there is someone out there like me who went through this and continues to go through life each day able to find happiness and joy again." - Kim Williams, Fairfield, Ohio resident.

"Through your style and grace, you brought Devin back to this life for those who never knew him, and you courageously shared your life and love in a way that was nothing short of inspirational!"  - Karen Landrum, LMT

"My Maine vacation included the reading of I'll Be in the
Car...thank you for your courageous act of truth-telling.  I was so
pleased to see the deep revision process, the way you shaped the
telling, the way you guided the text with your unique voice.  Such
good and inspiring work.  You rock!"  :-)  - Kathy Wade, Executive Director,
Women Writing for a Change.

"I couldn't put the d--- book down" - Mike Wright, two nights after flying in from Chicago for a special book preview party.
